The Mancuso's Mark Mancuso has resigned as the head baseball coach at Nebraska Wesleyan U. Hopefully, new challenges await in the workforce. "I'm too old to dig and too proud to beg," said Mancuso. Mark was graduated from Westside High School (Omaha) in 1975 where he lettered in basketball and baseball. He went on to play four years of baseball at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and was graduated in 1979 with a BS - Business Administration Degree. In 1983, while attending several weeks of Bible studies, Mark became a Christian as he received, by faith, the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:12, Romans 10:9). Since then, he has been a student of God's Word and has been teaching the Bible since 1987. After selling computers for Burrough's Corp. and Digital Equipment Corporation for 13 years, Mark decided to get into coaching. Bellevue University Coach, Mike Evans, asked him to join the Bellevue Bruins coaching staff in the fall of 1992. In January of 1994, a friend, Roger Diercks, died in a plane crash leaving behind his wife, Maureen, and four children. Convinced of God's will and waiting for Maureen to be so convinced, Mark and Maureen were married on October 8th, 1994. Two children have been born since the union. Mark coached at Bellevue University for 10 years. He was responsible for working with hitters and infielders as well as administrative duties such as statistics and web page design and maintenance. In June, 2002, Mark accepted the position as head baseball coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Ron Cullison, current Bruins pitching coach, also coached at NWU for three years. |
